During the Spring months, the forest floor is adorned with a variety of colorful wildflowers, such as trilliums and miner’s lettuce, which can be enjoyed as edible treats. Other wild plants like stinging nettle, wild mint, and lemon balm are also commonly found in the forest, and can be used in teas, salads, and other dishes.
- Learn how to confidently identify and safely harvest fresh Spring nutritious ingredients and incorporate them into your kitchen.
- This is an educational tour, not a harvesting expedition. Our goal is to provide you with the knowledge and foundation to safely forage and harvest botanicals independently in the future.
- A hands on, experiential learning opportunity for everyone. From tree and forest typology to wild plant identification, recommended harvesting practices and general foraging and outdoor safety will be covered.
- This guided tour offers a chance to learn from a passionate forager with decades of experience in the field.
