Pineridge RV Park and Farm Market

As you venture deeper into this mystical forest, you’ll discover how to see the forest through the trees. Learn about the fascinating mycorrhizal relationships and symbiotic partnerships that thrive in this mossy realm. Recognizing these natural patterns is the key to finding mushrooms, and your skills will flourish as you do.
In the early season, you’ll be captivated by the lobsters and chanterelles, while as the season progresses, our focus shifts to pines and yellow foot chanterelles.

  • Learn to confidently identify and safely harvest the wild foods of fall; from late berries to edible and all sort of wild mushrooms.
  • This is an educational tour, not a harvesting expedition. Our goal is to provide you with the knowledge and foundation to safely forage and harvest mushrooms independently in the future.
  • Please note that while we strive to provide a memorable experience, mushroom sightings cannot be guaranteed.
  • A hands on, experiential learning opportunity for everyone. From tree and forest typology to wild plant identification, recommended harvesting practices and general foraging/outdoor safety will be covered.
  • This guided tour offers a chance to learn from a master forager with decades of experience in the field.

What to expect when you arrive

Our expert foraging guide will quickly go over safety rules to respect during the tour, and bring you straight away for your wild foraging experience!
Please allow plenty of time upon arrival to make sure you don’t delay the group, as the tour will start right away. Parking is available at the farm. We will meet at the entrance of the storefront.

Group size & Age required

Children aged 6 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and an adult ticket must be purchased along with any child ticket.

Minors (13 years and older) can attend the tour alone only if their legal parents can come and sign the waiver in person on the day of the tour. Please get in touch with us if the adult ticket you are purchasing is for a minor.

Group is limited to 15 participants. Contact us if you wish to book a private booking for a smaller partie.

What to bring

Wear weather-appropriate clothing and choose suitable footwear for the hike. You can check the weather forecast here https://www.theweathernetwork.com/ca/outdoors/parks/british-columbia/spider-lake-provincial-park to ensure you are dressed appropriately.

While we won’t be harvesting mushrooms to take home, we will have examples to help you learn how to identify different species. Therefore, participants are encouraged to bring a camera and notebook to document and take notes during the tour.

Remember that our focus will be on education and identification rather than harvest!

Sample testing

NB: the sample testing is not included in the "Gourmet foraging tour"

We are providing a small bite-sized portion of wild food products for you to try. Bring your own lunch or eat at the farm at the end of the tour for a more consistent lunch.

Let us know if you have any food allergies.

Cancellation

Cancellations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance to receive a full refund. Please note that a $5 processing fee will be applied per guest for any cancellation. This fee helps cover the administrative costs charged by our payment platform.

Keep in mind that there is a minimum of 10 guests to run a tour. We may cancel at our discretion the foraging date should we not have the minimum number of attendees.

We reserve the right to cancel the tour up to 2 hours prior to it due to extreme weather conditions (such as wind warnings, heat waves, heavy rain downpours, etc.). In this case, we offer you the option to reschedule or receive a refund.
